Fake Hand sanitizers and other material in markets of Kashmir

Srinagar:- Police and administration have not been able to control the panic among the people to save themselves from corona virus infection. In the fit of hurry, authorities especially the health authorities have issued advisories asking people to use hand sanitizers and masks in order to avoid getting this infection.

“In Delhi and other states health authorities have suggested wearing of masks only for those people who are elderly or vulnerable to infections. Masks are only for those people and not for entire population. But in Kashmir health authorities have asked all people to use masks and to wash their hands some alcohol based sanitizers”, said Zahoor Ahmad Dar.

Drug controller Kashmir according to media reports got a tip of that already in bulk fake hand sanitizers have come and they were being manufactured in HMT area of Srinagar. Drug controller authorities raided the place and recovered lot of material which included the thinner used for paints, lemon essence and water along with glycerin. “We have recovered lot of material and raids are still going on” said a senior officer of drug controller department to this reporter.

Reports said that already raids have been conducted at number of places in Srinagar and Ganderbal districts as authorities have been able to recover lot of such fake products from the market. Assistant Drug Controller Kashmir Muhammad Younis told this reporter that they are already in the midst of raids and have recovered material from these gangs. He has cautioned people not to use these fake hand sanitizers available at some outlets in Kashmir. He said that during the raids they were able to trace the factory at HMT and said that it has been sealed.
