SRINAGAR, APRIL 14: Continuing its sanitization work, a team of field functionaries of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) in protective gear and specialized machines today sanitized Khanqah shrine and adjoining areas.
The sanitization drive was supervised by Deputy Mayor, Parvaiz Ahmed Qadri, who was accompanied by Health Officer, SMC, Dr. Javaid Qazi, and Ward Officer, ward no 6, Niyaz Ahmad.
On the occasion, chemicals were sprayed in the shrine premises and its adjacent areas including Shameshwari, Kalashpora, Namchibal and Fateh Kadal.
Deputy Mayor, on the occasion, informed that extensive sanitization is being carried in Srinagar with an aim to break the chain of transmission of COVID- 19.
He added that besides regular sanitization and cleanliness works, the Corporation also sanitized all the government residential quarters in Jawahar Nagar, Fruit Mandi in Parimpora and Press Enclave in Residency Road.
Furthermore, Nowshera and Chanmohalla areas were also decontaminated where from the positive cases of corona virus were reported. The decontamination chemical mixture was sprayed in 300 meters radius of the houses of the COVID positive cases.
