Leh and Kargil have been officially declared out of hotspot list and it is a good news for the people living there. It has been the fruit of honest and sincere efforts undertaken by people and administration of UT of Ladakh to defeat coronavirus and they have almost done it. With almost few cases left, most of the tests have come negative and it is a good sign that Ladakh region would be coronavirus free zone very soon.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has removed Ladakh from its hotspot area list. As many as 88 sample reports of Ladakh were received from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), New Delhi, and all reports were negative for Covid-19. Out of the total sample reports, 71 reports are of Leh district and 17 are of Kargil district.
Regarding the containment zone, the authorities have said Achinathang village had been rescinded of containment zone for the reason that till now there were no positive cases reported. However, the village would remain under surveillance for the next 14 days.
Commissioner Secretary Health Samphel told media the tests of these students were conducted as one of the students of the school had tested positive a few days ago and had attended the school for three days.
The administration of Ladakh has been very swift in isolating the suspects of coronavirus and keeping them in quarantine for the precautions.
