Holy month of Ramadan is coming for the faithful with all its blessings and bounties. People of Kashmir who are in grip of uncertainty of past 8 months, this month of prayers and fasting is a real time solace for them.
Amid the growing cases of COVID-19, with restrictions on the movement, people of Kashmir will switch over to prayers and seek shelter from divine so that they maintain the patitence.
These are real trying times for the people of Kashmir as they have huge financial problems which have not resulted from coronavirus lockdown but due to the earlier month’s long lockdown unleashed on them post August 5, last year.
There are many families who are still struggling to know about the status of their dear ones lodged in different jails outside Jammu and Kashmir. Though dozens of people from Kashmir have been released in the past few weeks including former chief minister Omar Abdullah, but there are many youth and activists still jailed outside as they were arrested during the initial period of lockdown in the month of August last year.
In such depressing times, holy month of Ramadan has come with lot of hope for the people of Kashmir who are looking for better future for their coming generations.
People of Kashmir have been walking through dark and long tunnel for the past three decades and are desperately looking for an end to this darkness and come out of it.
They are maintaining social distance in this pandemic and have voluntarily decided not to offer Nimaaz in masjids and shrines as has been the tradition of hundreds of years.
