In the recent past there have been two tragic deaths in South Kashmir of two pregnant women, triggering protests and widespread condemnation as families alleged negligence of doctors. A small video surfaced on the social media showing body of a pregnant women on a stretcher as hospital authorities in Anantnag reportedly refused to provide them an ambulance to carry the body to their native village.

While the incident has forced authorities to look into the circumstances of her death and subsequent denial of ambulance to the family to carry the body, protests were held in the native village of the victim, people demanding justice.

The woman’s family alleges that she died due to the negligence of doctors. Officials say a probe has been ordered. A doctor and a nurse have been suspended, while the probe is being conducted by district officials.

Basically authorities were forced to take action, after this video of tragic death and subsequent carrying of the body on a stretcher went viral.

A video of the family carrying the woman’s body on a stretcher has been widely shared. The clip shows four to five grieving family members walking on an empty road with the woman’s body, wrapped in a blanket, on the stretcher.

Already in South Kashmir young lady died in the similar circumstances along with here twins in her womb when she was not allegedly given timely treatment by doctors in a hospital. When she was tested after the death, the report showed here COVID positive, but the family is insisting for a probe into her tragic death.
