The Union Government after a series of high level meetings has decided to deploy additional troops in sensitive areas of Kashmir valley all along LoC and also in the Rajouri, Poonch sectors of Jammu region.
There have been many incidents of heavy shelling in Rajouri and Poonch sectors apart from many border areas of Kashmir valley Keran, Nowgam and Karnah.
In response to the recent media reports that Pakistan was moving troops to Gilgit Baltistan along with some Chinese presence, a series of high level meetings were held at New Delhi including by the Union Home Ministry.
LG Girish Chandra Murma along with Chief Secretary and other officials was summoned to New Delhi and held meetings for several days and met Defense Ministry officials also apart from Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
After the recent ground intelligence reports that more and more infiltration attempts were being made in the past several weeks, the central Government has decided to move additional troops on LOC in Kashmir and also in Rajouri, Poonch sectors of Jammu region.
Recently, several attempts were made in the Rajouri sector in which security forces killed one infiltrator and foiled half a dozen attempts of infiltration.
Recently the government told the media that they have lodged a strong protest with Pakistan over unprovoked ceasefire violations along the LOC and international border trying to push militants in Kashmir.
