Heavy rains damage bridge in Kupwara district

There has been a sharp increase in the water logging while a bridge was damaged in the Khumriyal area of Kupwara district police and reports said.

Heavy rains were witnessed in the entire Kupwara district resulting in water logging and also inundating many localities due to the heavy showers.

Police and officials told news agencies that one bridge was damaged in the Nawa Bazar locality of Khumriyal, besides several other places including Salkot, Goose and Kashira witnessed water logging due to the incessant rains.

Government said that they were closely watching the situation and were also looking at minimizing the damage to the properties and the houses due to the water logging.
