Leopard kills 9-year old boy in Central Kashmir’s Budgam

A leopard mauled a boy to death this evening in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Local sources said that a leopard took away a 9 year old boy who had ventured outside his house during evening hours. Locals shortly started searching the boy. He was found in a pool of blood in a nearby filed.

The boy was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Chowki Officer Soibugh Police Post while confirming the death of the boy told news agency Kashmir News Trust that they received an information during evening hours that a wild animal attacked a 9-year old boy at Haripora Haran village of Budgam. He was later found lying in a filed in critical condition.

The Chowki Officer said that the boy died in the hospital. He identified the victim as Ahran Showkat Mir, a resident of Haran Budgam. (KNT)
