Complete weekend curfew observed in Srinagar on Saturday

While the authorities have announced weekend curfew starting from 2 PM on Friday to 6 AM on Monday, on Saturday there was complete response to the covid curfew and the police was active in Lal Chowk and adjacent areas to enforce these restrictions.

Wet weather also played its part to keep the people indoors and there was very less private traffic plying on the roads of Srinagar on Saturday. Even those two wheelers which were seen on the streets were being searched by police and security forces in Srinagar especially in the Lal Chowk areas.

Lal Chowk and its adjacent trade markets were wearing a deserted look with no traffic or shops open.
