Earthquake Jolts Jammu and Kashmir

An earthquake measuring 5.7 on Richter scale was felt across Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning.

The tremors lasting for several seconds were reportedly felt at around 9:46 AM.

Citing an independent source GFZ (German Research Centre for Geosciences), ‘Kashmir Weather’ reported that an earthquake of magnitude 5.7 with epicenter 71.16°E  36.48°N (Afghanistan-Tajikistan Border Region) at a depth of 206 kilometers occurred at 9:46:01 a.m.

No loss to life or property has however been reported from anywhere. (GNS)
