Recently DC Bandipora reviewed progress of Ring Road Phase II Project in Sumbal.
The inspection focused on a 7-kilometer stretch from Sumbal Bridge to Sarai Dangerpora, critical for enhancing connectivity for the prestigious ring road project.
During the visit, the Project Director NHAI, Srinagar, briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the ongoing works and status of progress.
He emphasized the importance of facilitating the project’s swift execution and directed the social forestry department to clear trees along the road embankments besides instructed the SDM and Tehsildar Sumbal to facilitate NHAI with the relocation of utilities.
He urged the executing agency to expedite the work to ensure timely completion of the project.
It was informed that, approximately Rs. 46 crore has been disbursed to local landowners as part of the compensation and pending 32 cases shall be taken on case to case basis.
During the inspection, he said that the Ring Road project is vital for improving connectivity and enhancing infrastructure, and urged all stakeholders to work collaboratively to overcome any challenges and ensure the project progresses smoothly besides adhering to project completion timeline.
