Recently Minister for Health & Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education took a comprehensive review regarding the developmental projects in Shopian district.
She stressed upon the officers to expedite the execution of various infrastructure projects, especially in the areas of road connectivity, healthcare facilities and rural development, crucial for district’s socio-economic growth.
She called upon the officers to facilitate public at all levels and take due efforts while dealing with grievances and issues concerning general public. “Strengthen connection with people and be responsive to people’s issues and concerns”, Sakeena said.
While reviewing the power sector, the Minister instructed the officers for scheduled power availability with minimal power cuts in view of ensuing winter. She asked for initiating efforts for minimising the Transformer damages as well as prompt restoration of defected transformers.
The Minister, during the meeting, also sought provision of ration supply for the winters, water supply and other essential services. She directed the officers to ensure adequate storage of essential commodities, especially in rural areas in view of the winters.
She called upon the Deputy Commissioner to keep close watch on quality control of pesticides and fertilizers in the district as the place is known for producing quality apples.
