The temperatures across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh continue to showcase the frigid grip of winter, with several areas recording sub-zero temperatures.
The Kashmir valley experienced biting cold with Larnoo emerging as the coldest place, recording a minimum temperature of -8.2°C. Pahalgam and Sonamarg both recorded lows of -7.8°C, while Gulmarg stood at -6.2°C. Qazigund registered a minimum temperature of -5.6°C, closely followed by Khudwani at -5.8°C and Kulgam at -5.7°C. Pulwama and Anantnag recorded -5.0°C and -5.2°C, respectively, while Shopian reported -6.7°C. Srinagar, the summer capital, recorded -4.2°C, and Kupwara dipped to -4.7°C. Other notable figures include Kokernag at -3.4°C, Bandipora at -3.6°C, Baramulla at -3.0°C, and Budgam at -4.4°C. Ganderbal’s temperature data was unavailable.
The winter chill also extended to Jammu, with Padder experiencing the coldest conditions at -4.4°C. Bhaderwah recorded -0.1°C, while Banihal and Batote logged minimum temperatures of 2.0°C and 2.5°C, respectively. Rajouri and Kishtwar stood at 2.7°C and 2.8°C. Katra reported 6.6°C, while Jammu city recorded a minimum temperature of 6.4°C. Ramban was relatively warmer at 7.7°C, and Kathua reported 7.0°C. Samba, Udhampur, Poonch, and Reasi recorded 2.5°C, 4.3°C, 4.3°C, and 5.3°C, respectively.
The coldest temperatures were observed in Ladakh, where Drass recorded a bone-chilling -21.8°C, making it the coldest place in the region. Kargil was not far behind, recording -12.6°C, while Leh experienced -11.6°C.
