The Union Home Minister is slated to visit UT of Jammu and Kashmir by the end of this week. He is likely to hold high level security meets to combat any chances of infiltration especially after the recent infiltration bid in Poonch and Rajouri sectors.,
After the lull of a few years there have been firing incidents on the border especially in Poonch and Rajouri sectors.
This turn of events has come close to heels of a recent encounter which started in Kathua district.
There have been combing operations going on in Kathua district as there have been intelligence inputs that some groups have crossed over to this side and they are equipped with the latest weapons.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his scheduled latest visit is likely to take the preparedness of the security grid to combat any infiltration attempts and also to secure the border areas for the summers.
Meanwhile, news agencies and news reports said that during his visit, he is likely to tour border areas and hold a security review meeting.
“The meeting will be attended by senior officials of the police, Army and other security agencies,” sources said.
