Security of Yatra

The Union Home Ministry is closely monitoring the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir post Operation Sindoor.

The coming annual Amarnath Yatra is in sharp focus of authorities as the terror attack near to the yatra route at Pahalgam has sent alarm bells.

Security agencies have been making plans with high tech gadgets to secure the route of Amarnath Yatra from the twin routes of Pahalgam and Sonmarg.

According to the media reports 52000 security jawans along with latest equipment and drones would be deployed for the coming Amarnath Yatra and the entire security plan is being monitored by the Union Home Ministry.

On April 22, at Baisaran 26 tourists were killed and it has alerted the security agencies to reassess the situation and secure the both routes of the yatra so that there is no violent incident during the yatra.

Already the J & K government has been appealing to tourists and yatries to come in large numbers to defeat the terror and boost tourism activities across Kashmir valley.
