Activity ‘Koro Na’ for school students during lockdown amid coronavirus outbreak

In an effort to engage the school children in constructive activities during the ongoing lockdown amid deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic outbreak, the J&K State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) is organising online activities for the students under the theme “Activity Karo Na”.

Different activities will be organised for students of different age groups. For the 3-6 age group, the topic is “Save the Planet” wherein the students participate in painting, poem writing and fancy dress competition.

Similarly, for students in the 7-10 age group, the topic for the students is “Advantages of lockdown in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic or COVID-19 Hygiene Practices”. Students will participate in poster making, short story and slogan writing (300 words).

For students of 11-15 age group, the topic for the students is “Preservation of rich heritage of our composite culture” wherein students participate in photography, article writing and quotes. Registration closes today (April 14) while the entries can be submitted from April 15 to 18, 2020. Interested students can also visit the student corner on website-Http://schedujammu.nic.in/.

“We can understanding the problems of students as well as parents in this crisis like situation but staying safe at home is the best option at this moment. At the same time, we are also making sure that there will be no academic loss of students. Such type of activities will help students engage with keenness”, a DSEJ official told.

“Our other initiatives during lockdown have been appreciated by all stakeholders which is an encouraging sign. Let up us hope that the online activities will also get a similar response from parents and students”, the official added.
