Poonch/Srinagar: Locals on telephone told this reporter on Tuesday afternoon that border shelling has started again after a lull of few hours. locals said that they were forced by the heavy shelling to remain in their under ground rooms as some of them have made such rooms to cover their families due to heavy shelling.
Border shelling in Poonch sector has impacted the farming and other activities of villagers as many of the families have started migrating to the safer places along with their cows and other animals. As the borders are becoming hot in this summer the brunt of the situation is on the poor villagers who are living near the forward posts.
Latest reports said that shelling was going on along the (LoC) in Mankote Sector of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. Reports said that shelling from both sides started in the morning and was continuing till this report was being filed.
On Monday also both the sides exchanged heavy shelling in the Poonch sector of Jammu region.
