PROMPT REDRESSAL

New Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has decided to visit as many as districts in Jammu and Kashmir to have the direct feel of the situation and also know from the public how his administration is behaving with them while dealing with their grievances.

He has launched a public contact programme in UT of Jammu and Kashmir and held meetings at Reasi and Jammu recently. Reports said that he expressed dismay over the handling of issues of the public by the officers. He has directed the officers to mitigate the public sufferings at the earliest. This response from the LG has been because of the meetings with public delegations who narrated their tales of neglect by the officials.

Many of the delegations alleged that for their SC/ST certificates they had to come to the offices for months together and demanded a mechanism so that they can get these certificates on the day of applying for the same.

They also alleged delay and corruption in the offices and said that most of the time they leak their applications half way as the officials exhaust them in the offices by delaying the matters.

LG has asked the administration to create a mechanism so that common people are not subjected to delays and harassment by the officials for their genuine works.
