Reacting to the second draft proposal by the delimitation commission to its associate members in which it has suggested drastic changes in the parliamentary and assembly segments of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti has said that the commission is working at the behest of BJP to implement their agenda.
She said that there is no element of surprise in the second draft of the commission as she had already expressed her doubts about the integrity and intentions of the commission with regard to Jammu and Kashmir.
“BJP wants to strengthen its constituencies. They want to disempower the majority communities be it in Rajouri, Chenab valley,” she said as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)
Mehbooba said that merging Anantnag parliamentary seat with Jammu regions has made their voters irrelevant.
“How will a parliamentarian reach Rajouri or Chenab valley when the road remains closed for six months,” she said.
Mehbooba said that BJP is executing Godse agenda to divide Hindu and Muslim community, which is “unacceptable” and it is sheer dictatorship that is prevailing in the country.
While reacting to the arrest of Journalists in Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti said that the Government is curbing every dissent in the Valley.
“Fahad has been arrested. Earlier Sajad Gul was arrested and now I came to know that more Journalists are being summoned,” Mehbooba said.
“Nobody is allowed to speak up in Kashmir. Our district president for Ganderbal was arrested just because he spoke against the Delimitation Commission. He was taken to the police station, but was released later,” she said.
