Lot of patients, some of whom had gone through operation, had a narrow escape when in a fire incident they were timely removed to safer places by the locals, hospital staff and their attendants.

Many NGOs who are working in Srinagar especially a team of Athrout immediately reached Bone and Joint Hospital of  Barzulla to help in the removal of patients and also to provide them with relief material like blankets etc.

Apart from these NGOs the locals who are living nearby also rushed to the hospital to help the patients to come out from this hospital when the fire services vehicles reached to douse the fires.

The voluntary help by the people also resulted in removal of 150 oxygen cylinders from the hospital building to safer places otherwise it could have been a tragedy and there could have been human losses also if the cylinders would not have been removed.
