Election duties

In preparation for the upcoming general Assembly Elections 2024, District Election Officer Udhampur, convened a interactive session with Zonal and Sectoral Magistrates to brief them on their roles and responsibilities, as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.

She emphasized the need for the magistrates to remain vigilant and stay updated with the latest protocols and procedures set by the Election Commission. She stressed the importance of their role in ensuring a robust and transparent election process, underscoring their responsibility in upholding the integrity of the democratic process.

She directed the magistrates to maintain close coordination with Polling Officers, Returning Officers and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of the election in their respective zones and sectors. DEO also instructed the ROs to provide detailed checklists to the magistrates, helping them in carrying out their duties meticulously.

 She directed the officers to perform their duties with utmost dedication and remain proactive on the ground, ensuring that the elections are conducted smoothly. The DEO highlighted the importance of adhering strictly to the Model Code of Conduct and ensuring impartiality in all actions.
