Recently District Development Commissioner Samba chaired a meeting to review the implementation and progress of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) in the district. The meeting was held in the conference hall of the DC Office Complex, Samba.
The Key initiatives included the promotion of vegetables and exotic vegetables through Open and Hi-Tech Protected Cultivation, Beekeeping, and the development of rainfed areas. Additionally, efforts to promote the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants, as well as millet, mushroom, commercial floriculture, and oilseed production, He reviewed the list of eligible beneficiaries for final selection and approval under the various programmes of Agriculture and Allied Departments who had applied through the HADP portal. A total of 815 beneficiaries were selected for benefits under different schemes of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme.
The District Development Commissioner stressed the importance of scaling up allied sector schemes, including Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Horticulture, Horticulture Planning & Marketing, and Sericulture. He urged the departments to extend the benefits to more farmers to maximize the impact of the HADP across the district.
He called for collaborative efforts among all stakeholders to foster sustainable agriculture and rural development in the district. He emphasized the importance of involving banks in prioritizing the sponsorship of loan cases, ensuring proper support to beneficiaries.
