Flood threat is real in Srinagar city

Flood threat is not only looming over the Srinagar city but it is becoming real with each passing day of the current summer. The incessant rains of recent days and the heavy downpour in Srinagar city especially in Lalchowk and adjacent areas today sub merged the city centre and the Srinagar municipal corporation had to dewater many areas for smooth traffic.

Common people are at the receiving end of the situation and the flood threat has made thier lives miserable. Roads remained submerged and it took authorities hours to bring life cycle on track.

Recent flood threat has exposed all the claims of the authorities that they have taken all measures to save the Srinagar city from the floods after getting huge money from the central government to go for dredging and for embankments of breached bands of river jehlum.
