PDP removes Yasir Reshi as District President Bandipore

Srinagar:  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Thursday removed Yasir Reshi as District President for Bandipore.

Reshi had criticized the party and parted ways from it after BJP pulled out of the alliance which resulted in governor’s rule in the state.

A PDP statement said that the District President Baramulla, Irshad Rasool Kar will look after the party affairs of District Bandipore as well for time being.

Reshi, a member of the legislative council, was one of the PDP legislators who had revolted against the PDP leadership after the coalition government with the BJP collapsed last month.

He had accused Mufti of nepotism and called for an alternative to the “two-family” system of power in Jammu and Kashmir. Reshi was referring to the Mufti and Abdullah families, who have mostly governed the state.

PDP is facing revolt from within after its president Mehbooba Mufti resigned as Chief Minister.
