Srinagar: In Accordance with the already announced program of “Naqshband Sahib Chalo” of the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Friday defied his house detention and tried to march towards Naqshband Sahib however he was arrested.
The spokesman said that Chairman APHC Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was detained outside his Nigeen residence as soon as he tried to march towards the Martyrs Graveyard, Naqshband Sahib shrine at Khawaja Bazar in old City Srinagar. Police detained the Mirwaiz and lodged him at Nigeen police station
Meanwhile, to avoid any possible clash on this day, the government has put a strict restriction in Srinagar city with all roads leading to the Naqshband Sahib.
