Missing Kangan youth found dead in Power canal

Srinagar: Police on Saturday recovered a dead body of a missing person from Power Canal at Panzin in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

“The body was spotted by locals at power canal USHP 2nd near Panzin Kangan,” Police officials said.

After getting the information, a police team rushed to the spot and with the help of locals retrieved the body from the canal.

The deceased was identified as Shakeel Ahmad Awan, (24) son of Mohd Aslam Awan, a resident of Satrina Kangan. He had gone missing on July 9, this year.

Police have registered a case and taken up investigations.
