Srinagar’s Barzulla shuts for second consecutive day

A complete shutdown for second consecutive day  is being observed in Barzulla area of Srinagar over the killing of a local militant.

Locals said that all the shops, private offices, and other business establishments remained shut  in the area while transport is off the roads too.

The shutdown is being observed  over the killing of a local militant Mudasir Ahmad Bhat, who was killed in a gunfight with government forces in Kachama forests on June 29 and then buried in Tunga Top forest area after the government failed to establish the identity.

On first August Mudasir’s body was handed over to his  family after it was exhumed from Tunga top forest area graveyard,  permission for exhumation of the body was granted  after DNA samples of the slain militant matched with those claiming to be his kin.
