Two militants were killed in a gunfight with the government forces in Khumriyal area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday, police said.
SSP Kupwara, Ambarkar Shriram Dinkar, said the gunfight broke out today afternoon after Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the army launched a search operation in Khumriyal area following inputs about the presence of militants.
“The bodies of both militants have been recovered. Efforts are on to ascertain their identity,” Dinkar said.
