Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that a gunfight broke out in Shukhbaba area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district immediately after sleuths of police, CRPF and and army cordoned off the area and started search operations.
As the forces intensified the searches, the militants opened fire on them triggering off an encounter, they said.
In a statement on Thursday Police said “Cordon and Search Operation which was being carried out at Shukbaba Bandipora by Police, army and CRPF has turned into an encounter.” More details to follow. (KNS)
