Hurriyat (G) activist killed in Shopian

Shopian: Unknown gunmen on Thursday shot dead a Hurriyat Conference (G) activist in Meminder area of this south Kashmir district.

Tariq Ahmad Ganie, who was a former militant, was fired upon by gunmen near his home at Meemender village.

In the incident Ganie received serious bullet wounds and was taken to nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, reported news agency GNS.

A police officer also confirmed the incident and said that the investigation in the case has been launched.
