Srinagar : The students of Kashmir University on Thursday offered prayers in absentia for the slain rebel scholar who was killed during an encounter today.
An eye witness said the students assembled on the campus and raised pro freedom slogans.
Earlier, a gunfight broke out after a joint team of army’s 30 RR and SOG cordoned off Shatgund Balla in Handwara and ended up with the killing of two militants. the militants were identified as Manan Bashir Wani, a Ph.D. scholar turned militant and Ashiq Hussain Zarger, son Ghulam Mohidin zarger.
