Shopian in south Kashmir shuts against militant killings

Srinagar : District Shopian in south Kashmir today is observing a complete shutdown to mourn the killing of four militants, who were killed during an encounter day before during an encounter between the militants and a joint team of Police army, police and SOG, in Nadigam village of district Shopian, in south Kashmir.

All the shops, business establishments and educational institutes are shut while the traffic is sparse on the roads.

Four Hizb ul Mujahideen militants were killed on Tuesday in Nadigam village, some four kilometers from the main town Shopian.

A para commando was also killed and three soldiers suffered injuries during the gunfight.
At least ten civilians, including three girls, were injured in clashes with the government forces soon after the gunfight.
