Srinagar;Thousands of people on Tuesday participated in the funeral prayers of Jaish-e-Muhammad militant and a civilian killed during a gunfight in Pinglena area of Pulwama district on Monday.
Reports said that mourners in thousands assembled at Pinglena village to offer the funeral prayers for the slain militant Hilal Ahmad Naikoo and a civilian Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat.
They said several rounds of funeral prayers were held for both Bhat and Naikoo.
An eyewitness said that thousand people poured onto streets as the bodies of the duo were lifted, the scenes were poignant amid the chanting of pro-freedom slogans.

He said that scores of men and women wept bitterly as the bodies were being carried towards its final resting place.
On Monday slain militant Naikoo was killed along with his two associates in a gunfight with the forces at his native Pinglena on Monday. Four army men, Policeman, and a civilian were also killed in the gunfight.
Meanwhile, nine others were injured in the encounter including DIG south Kashmir range, Amit Kumar who got a superficial injury after a bullet passed his leg. The injured also included a lieutenant colonel and Brigadier Harbeer Singh. The latter was heading 12 Sector RR.(KASHMIR LIFE)
