According to traffic officials Srinagar Jammu highway was still closed for traffic today as the repair work was going on. Reports said that frequent heavy rains and landslides have resulted in heavy damage to portion of the road at Ramban. Reports from the area said that road has sunken at various spots in entire belt from Ramban to ramsoo.
A senior traffic officer told this reporter that BRO engineers and workers were busy in repair work and hopefully the road would be restored by evening today.
Traffic officials have appealed people not to undertake thier journey on highway without getting status of the road known. Officials further said that after the road will open they will allow only stranded vehicles to move today evening .
