Srinagar: One of the slain three militants in Tral gunfight has been identified by his family as Mudasir Khan, a Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) commander.
The body of Khans was handed over to the family and was taken in a huge procession to his native village Midoora in Tral.
Reports said that thousands of people including vehicles and motorbikes were part of the procession.
Police said that two militants were killed in the Sunday gunfight with forces in Pinglish village in Pulwama district.
“The second militant also belongs to the JeM, however, his identity is yet to be ascertained,” the officer added. “DNA tests will be carried out as the bodies have been charred.”
The army meanwhile said three militants were killed. The police has so far, though, recovered only two bodies.
