Srinagar: An army personnel was killed on Sunday after a landslide hit Machil in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Officials said that a soldier Hawaldar Satvir Singh of 45 RR was part of the patrolling party when he came under the landslide Sunday afternoon near Ashwani Post along Line of Control (LoC).
Singh, a resident of Mathura in Uttar Pradesh sustained serious injuries and was immediately shifted to a military hospital in Drugmulla.
However, doctors present there declared him brought dead.
