Kulgam: In a tragedy incident, due to the non-complition of bridge between Aharbal and Reshi Nagar, one civilian namely Baj-u-Din Chohan S/o Mam-u-Din Chohan lost his life on Monday evening. According to the reports from the village he died when he fell from the diversion of incomplete bridge, leaving behind two daughters and two sons.
The incomplete bridge between Aharbal and Reshi Nagar area of Noorabad has resulted in first civilian death, triggering intense anger among the villagers.
Just few days back this reporter did the story on the delay in complete of this bridge. The authorities at that time assured that it would be completed, but so far there is no progress for completion of this bridge. The killing of the civilian by falling in the nallah when he was trying to go home with heap of grass has shown that Governor’s administration has no idea what the villagers are undergoing by the delayed projects in far off villages of South Kashmir.
The bridge has remained incomplete for years and if it is completed will connect dozens of villages on both sides falling in the districts of Shopian and Kulgam. The villagers have appealed State Chief Secretary and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to intervene and direct the authorities to complete the bridge and save the human lives.
