Srinagar: Clashes erupted in several parts of Budgam district in central Kashmir amid polling for the second phase of parliamentary polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
Witnesses said that the clashes ensued at several places including in main town Beerwah, Kandoora, Chewdara, Kawoosa and Rathsun villages.
They said that the youths pelted stones on government forces deployed for polling duty and polling stations.
Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed across the valley.
All the business establishments remained closed in Srinagar while traffic was off the roads. Heavy deployment of the police and paramilitary forces has been made at all the sensitive places across the Srinagar-Budgam parliamentary constituency seat which is going to polls.
