South Kashmir: Three militants, soldier, civilian killed in Pulwama gunfight

Srinagar : Three militants, civilian and an army man were killed and three persons including two army men were injured in a gunfight with government forces in Dalipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday morning.

An official said that a civilian, army man and three militants were killed and three persons including two army men were injured in a gunfight.

The slain has been identified as Rayees Ahmad Dar son of Jalal Ud din Dar and his brother Mohammad Younis Dar was injured during the gunfight.

He said the gunfight began after the joint team of forces launched cordon and search operation at Dalipora area today early morning.

As the joint team forces intensified the searches towards the suspected spot, the militants opened fire leading to a gunfight, he added.

“In the ensuing gunfight three militants were killed and the bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter,” he said, adding that the identity of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, Internet has been suspended in the entire district.
