Srinagar : A day after five Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, the Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik Thursday said that the attack was carried out on the directions of Pakistan.
Five CRPF men and a militant was killed on Wednesday while several others sustained injuries after militants carried out an attack in K P road area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday evening.
Talking to reporters, Malik said that such attacks are being carried out on the directions of Pakistan, saying that these attacks are aimed to disrupt the peace in the Valley.
“Fidayeen attacks on the directions of Pakistan are always being carried out in the Valley whenever there is peace. The elections were conducted peacefully and that didn’t suit the militant handlers based in Pakistan, therefore they are resorting to such kind of attacks,” he said.
Referring to a query, Governor Malik added that Anantnag attack was not on yatra as it has not commenced yet. “There is a full proof security plan in place to ensure smooth conduct of Amarnath yatra,” he said. (KNS)
