Srinagar : A teenage girl was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Baapora area of Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday.
Nazia Akhtar daughter of Mohammad Amin Shah of Baapora, Qazigund was found hanging in an orchard today in the morning, an official said.
He said that locals of the area spotted the body of the girl hanging in the nearby orchard at Baapora, Qazigund and immediately informed concerned police station about it.
He added police team reached the spot and took the body for postmortem and other legal medico formalities.
After conducting all legal formalities, the police will be handed over the body of the deceased girl to her relatives, said an official.
Police has initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC in this regard.
