Man dies of cardiac arrest amid cross LoC shelling in Mendhar

Srinagar : A person on Saturday died of cardiac arrest amid cross LoC shelling between Indo-Pak armies in Poonch district.

Reports said that the man Manzoor Hussain (60) son of Jumma Hussain, a resident of Dheri Dabsi died due to a heart attack.

Confirming the death, SDPO Poonch Neeraj Padyar told news agency GNS that the villager received a major heart attack after a mortar shell landed near his residential house.

Earlier, naib-Sarpanch Zaffar-ul-Ullah Khan has received injuries after some shells fired by Pakistan landed near the residential areas and is undergoing treatment in a local hospital.

A police officer earlier had told news agency GNS that “at about 0900 hours, Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation while resorting to firing by small arms and shelling with mortars along LoC in Mendhar sector, while adding that Army soldiers manning the LoC retaliated strongly.
