Srinagar : Two boys drowned in river Jehlum in Shilwat area of Sumbal in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Wednesday.
An official said that two boys identified as Mohammad Shafi Bajran, 15, and Mohammad Kafeel Bajran, 8, sons of Abdul Rashid Bajran of Kalakoot Rajouri drowned in river Jhelum.
He said that soon after the incident a rescue operation was launched by the locals and police to retrieve the duo.
Kafeel has been rescued while operation to rescue Shafi is underway, the official said.
