Soldier injured in exchange of fire with militants at Arwani, Kulgam

Srinagar, Jan 27 : A soldier was injured in the exchange of fire between militants and the security forces personnel at Arwani area of Southern Kulgam district on Monday.

Officials told that heavy exchange of fire took place between forces and the militants when joint parties of forces were laying a siege at Arwani village after receiving some tips about presence of militants. “The exchange of fire lasted for almost five minutes after which a soldier sustained injuries. The injured soldier was identified as Sharefudin of 1 RR,” officials said.

They said that there was no exchange of fire after that but security forces have intensified the cordon to nab the attackers. The cordon was on in the area when this report was filed. (KNO)
