PASSPORT HELPLINE

Passport is still a problem for many people in Jammu and Kashmir and the administration is trying to solve this problem of common people by becoming responsive to their needs. In this direction recently the Jammu and Kashmir Police have set up a helpline for facilitating information to people on the status and verification of any queries related to issuance of passports.

The police launched the helpline (8491830830) from the beginning of this year to facilitate people with the status of their passport, verification or any other query related to verification from this year. This is a good beginning in the year 2020 as this helpline will help people to know about the status of their application otherwise they have to go to the passport office to know about the same.

This will save the time of common people and this helpline will be a real beginning in the direction making the administration responsive to the needs of common people. Police verification is still going on at a very slow pace for the issuance of passport and many times people have to visit police stations and CID office many times to know about the fate of their application to get the verification.

The process is still time consuming and it should have been a single window clearance for the issuance of passport for common people in Jammu and Kashmir.

In the past few days police helpline regarding the quarries of passports received a huge response from applicants but the government will have to do more so that the system becomes more prompt and transparent for general public so they get the passport on time without any delay.
