Water sports

Administration is very keen to take multiple steps for the introduction of water sports in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir has vast potential for water sports as it has huge number of water bodies and rivers.

There has been no concrete effort in the past to introduce water sports in a big way in Jammu and Kashmir. Recently a senior officer of the administration said that Government was aiming to take remarkable steps in boosting water sports across Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to athletes during a ceremony at Banquet Hall, Srinagar, he said that Jammu and Kashmir has tremendous potential in water sports and Government was taking every possible step to boost this sport.

Government said that some vital equipment has been installed for training purposes of the athletes. He hailed the donors of these athletes, saying that their contribution will help the Government to make a remarkable change in water sports. The athletes displayed the equipment at Banquet Hall Srinagar.

JKARS is the first sports association in J&K which has so far availed funds of its own for procurement of equipment and sponsorships for team J&K for upcoming international event endogenously without support from the government.

Water sports have lot of aims in Jammu and Kashmir and the current efforts of the administration will help this sport to develop and take some young boys and girls to the international events in future. MK NEWS DESK
