Kashmir and detentions figured even in the latest Donald Trump visit to New Delhi showing the underlying focus of global thinkers especially the US Congress over the ground situation in Kashmir.

Trump even gave a hint that there are always two sides of any story indicating that Kashmir problem has many layers and once more offered to mediate between India and Pakistan.

In such backdrop, recently central government showed all inclination and willingness to release mainstream political activists including three former chief ministers of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that the government is keeping a watch on ground situation and all the political activists would be released as and when the situation will warrant so.

Rajnath Singh gave all indications that in the coming months, there would be a shift in the policy on Kashmir and the mainstream political leaders including former ministers and law makers would walk free and participate in the political activities.

The continued detention of three former chief ministers continues to draw attention of diplomats and from various countries. Sitting MP and former chief minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah, is in focus and there are lot of demands especially from the members of parliament that he should be set free so that he comes and participates in the debates in houses.
