BANDIPORA, MARCH 03: The Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza on today distributed certificates among students on completing Short-term Skill Development Courses at Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Bandipora under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, District Information Officer Jahangeer Akhoon and Principal ITI were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, the DC congratulated students for successfully completing the course and said that Skill Development Initiative aims at training youth in job-oriented skills so that they can earn their livelihood.
He said during the six-week course, 25 students were trained in various market driven and job-oriented trades including mobile, TV, washing machine repairing, DTP screen printing, stenography and short hand. He urged youth to opt for skill development courses under various Government schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, Joint Director Planning said that students will now be sensitized about different job-oriented schemes so that they can start their own income generating units and the district administration is committed to hand holding of youth who are desirous to start their own ventures.
