Kashmir under lockdown on Sunday

On Sunday morning kashmir remained under lockdown with police and paramilitary forces sending back private vehicles and not allowing people to come out from bylanes to main roads. Government has ordered strick restrictions on sunday and has asked police nad other agencies to enforce these restrictions on the ground. This reporter saw police checked the identity cards of the people and allowing only those who are belonging to essential services to move on the roads. All the streets of Lal Chowks and adjacent area wore a deserted look with only uniformed men visible.
Kashmir has been under the virtual curfew from Thursday as one women from Srinagar tested positive to Coronovirus. When she came back from March 16 from saudi Arabia. Although authorities have kept dozens of suspects under surveillance however her husband and daughter in law have tested negative. Doctors in SKIMS said that she herself was stable and was being closely monitored by team of doctors.
On Sunday authorities are going to held several high level meetings not only to monitor situation but also for the procurement of essential items health services to combat COVID-19 virus threat.
According to officials strict restrictions will remain in force for the coming March also as the decision would be taken after every 24 hours monitoring the situation on ground.
Meanwhile in UT of Ladakh there is lot of panic and fear as the number of cases tested positive has gone up to 13. Administration in UT of Ladakh has already declared a lockdown with suspension of all commercial flights to Leh.
