Mehbooba likely to walk free

According to senior official in the administration they were waiting from the signal of central government to revoke PSA slapped on former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti. When asked by the reporter when she would be released, he said, “It can today, tomorrow”.

However news agency IANS has reported that the PSA would be revoked today and Mehbooba Mufti would be released. However the official have not confirmed the claim of news agency so far.

Earlier reports have said that on the recommendations of local administration central government was mulling to release all political prisoners in Kashmir including the alleged the stonepelters and many of them have been lodged in different jails outside Jammu and Kashmir. On Tuesday former chief minister Omar Abdullah soon after his release has demanded restoration of 4G services and release of all political prisoners amid COVID-19 threat. He said that people of Kashmir were fighting a battle of life and death and the government should not be callus in such a situation and release all prisoners without any further delay.
